Wrap it up!

Wow, are we really at the end of another MAIT class?  I can't believe how fast this class has flown by!  I really learned a lot this semester about implementing different learning theories and especially Connectivism and even created a podcast with a true founder of Connectivism, Stephen Downes!  That was truely a highlight to our collaborative learning presentation. Thank you Vicky and Shawn for being such great partners to work with!

I am also really happy with my new global connections and am so excited to work with my partner, Tricia, after Easter break with our new group online classroom!  YAY!  Our group classroom is through http://www.edmodo.com/, a resource that is so user friendly!

Now it is time for some ribs and other goodies at our last class night of the semester where we will get to share our portfolio.

My Global connections quest

So, I have joined several groups to connect to other language teachers worldwide and have had some wonderful results!  Since joining a Spanish Teachers and World Language group on edmodo.com I have gotten to share ideas, discuss evaluation practice and other info.  Today my edmodo.com led me to a fantastic blog created by another Spanish teacher that is full of music resources for me to share with my students. I have also joined linked-in and met another Spanish teacher who also wants her classes to collaborate and communicate and connect with other Spanish learners.  Through this connection her and I are now working on a collaborative edmodo page where our students will get to communicate with other students and practice their newly aquired language skills.  I really am enjoying the journey and have gotten so much out of connections with my global PLN.

February 27th, 2012

Wow, I can't believe that I get to present with Shawn and Vicky next week on Connectivism.  I am really excited to present our lesson and share our podcast interview that we conducted with Stephen Downes on February 14th! It was such a great experience to be able to personally talk with Stephen about his thoughts on connectivism and how we can use it in education and in the business world.

Week 4 of Class 4

Well, we are now becoming experts in Synectics, Behavioralism and Cognativism thanks to our peers that have shared their lessons, links and extranormals and voki's.  Thank you for the sharing your knowledge with us!

I am really excited at the progress that my connectivism group is making with our project!  I know that I have been learning a lot from and with them and I really am enjoying our topic and the collaboration involved in this task.

I am connecting through Connectivism

So here we are in class 3!  Wow, this is flying.  I find it very interesting that we are using the theory of connectivism for this class....but with a small number of participants.  It is interesting that as we become a more technological world, we use connecting online at such a rapid pace.  I post a question on linkedin, facebook or google+ and with-in minutes, I have responses and suggestions from people all over the world!  It is just amazing to think that all of these resources are right here in front of me through this little machine, connecting me to anywhere at anytime.  hmmmmmm

Week 2

Ok, this was not the best week overall for me but at least I am still staying focused on what needs to be done for class.  The last class was very overwhelming for me but I know I am not the only one who felt that way.  I have made my portfolio page and added a picture but now I need to move all of my information from my blackboard portfolio to it!  Yikes......
Okay, repeat mantra.....I can do this, I can do this!

January 23, 2012

Wow!  We are back MAIT's cohort!  I look forward to working with the EECC group and my new group partner Shawn!  We will rock this project and learn how to teach Connectivism. (Just like I learned how to whitewater raft in Costa Rica this past summer!)
